Well it was certainly exciting but like Mallard has said Telford on that viewing will not be in the top half of the table. Williams, Nyahwema and Gold stood out for me. I am sure the manager will look at the playback of any video particularly in the first half where we looked mighty vulnerable at the back. There will be plenty of teams in this league who will be very able to take advantage of that situation more than Telford.

Very early days where 8 of the starting line up were not in the side last year and it will take a bit of time to get the best balance of the squad.

The price of a bottle of water went down - I was charged an outrageous £2.50 for a bottle against Chester

Had heard at the game that Marriott got a slight injury and that might explain why he wasnt risked. Long season to come definitely a marathon not a sprint. Think Lynns pace will frighten a lot of teams and Telford having been lucky to go ahead did they best to waste as much time as possible. Overall good start lets make some real judgements after ten games.

10 games for sure will give a massive insight into where we stand in the swing of things. The team will Gel more as the season moves on.

Was far more watchable yesterday than the stuff Lakeland served up last season.   Think we have pace to burn which may help us more on the Road as at home we may find that teams sit deep not allowing any space in behind to run into.  No one can accuse JR of being one dimensional as we had two ways of forcing the issue yesterday.  The lad who came on, Ford Brown looks a player.  Very direct, pace and shows no fear.

One little thing for the Club to tighten up is no one checking  stand  tickets.  Never saw anyone before the game and as the 2nd half started a good few people were taking seats near my group who weren't there in the first half. Again no one there checking peoples tickets.

What did others think to having balls all around the pitch, did it speed things up ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about ?

My personal opinion re the volcano ball stands dotted around was that the balls ended up all over the place.

At one point there were four on the ground ⚽⚽⚽⚽ opposite the stand. It seemed to cause confusion rather than helping.

Now last week there were several ball kids who threw balls onto the pitch as required. They also picked up balls that went out and repatriated them onto said volcano stands.

Without ball kids, the new system was self defeating and balls should be thrown out from the dugout area for speed.

With ball kids, it works quite well. It would also reduce the time wasting by supplying the ball more quickly (unless it's us wasting time of course 😂)

Perhaps the club can call for volunteers, or make money by selling the opportunity to be on-pitch with their heroes 😺

(To someone who asked me why I leave gaps between sentences, it's easier for dyslexic people to read 🙂)

This "10 games into a season" theory seems to be trotted out every season.

How many points would be deemed acceptable at the 10 game mark?

17? 20?   :dontknow:
Question everything!

You're quite right it does, but to be fair the 10 game mark is generally a valid yardstick to gauge how the season looks to be going. Trouble is, some, when they dont like the way things are going, will then say, "well we really need to see where we are at Xmas before judging" which is far too late!!
To answer your question though, if we are looking at top 2 then 21/22 points would be what we should be looking for, if its play offs, then 17/18 would be a good start.
Yesterday was very encouraging but did give me a bit of a deja vu feeling re: so many missed chances, as that seems to have been our achilles heel for quite a few seasons now.

Chances missed last season ? Christ alive what games were you watching , we barely had a shot.  If it is true what JR says in post match that we had 24 shots on goal. I would love to know the last time we had this many in a home game? Maybe someone far more knowledgeable than my husband and I can let us all know ....

We would rather us play like that every week and not achieve a playoff place. It felt different yesterday , it felt we were constantly attacking

I didn't say JUST last season!!...I said few seasons and I question about what games you were watching then if  you don't think the lack of a clinical finisher has been a big hindrance over the past FEW (please read more carefully in future) seasons!

Don't see it as negative more balanced.

Mallard, are you saying that I'm unbalanced 😉😂

I really find this Telford won't be a top half team at the end of the season, quite funny, anybody who watched most KLTFC games last season would have thought we would have been well in the mix for relegation, however we dished up mostly rubbish football yet made the playoffs. Funny old game of differing opinions.

Mallard

Quinn I'm sure you are very balanced....Just maybe it's your view on Football..... kidding.🤭😂  We all see things through different eyes.  Be boring if we all thought the same.

100% the fayre on offer on Saturday was far more enjoyable than the turgid stuff served up a lot of last season.  Just think it has to be kept in context.  We are a new team put together very quickly.  So feel the expectation level needs to be kept in check.

Guess it was frustrating to dominate such large parts of the game to end up with just a point to show for it. Two games on the road to follow so that should prove interesting.
