Lynn lose 2-3 at home to 2nd place Scarborough.

Att: An impressive 1230.

Disappointing day, I am sure people will point to Scarborough's unbeaten run and (another) poor refereeing performance but neither of these should paper over Lynn's performance which really wasn't good enough to warrant anything from todays game, as Clunan put it in his post match interview with Radio Norfolk - "we can't be unlucky every game" and going on to say we have to learn from today.

Thought Clunan himself had a good game but ultimately we didn't have enough in midfield and appreciate I haven't seen too many home games but we can't carry all three of Lambert, Nyahwema and Gyasi in the starting lineup based on how little they contributed today, whatever Gold's shortcomings he did at least give their centre halves something to think about.

Aside from next weeks distraction, feel the club need to make a decision on the manager's position sooner rather than later and if they are going to stick with JS then he needs to have some experience in the dugout with him asap, looked like today he had no one to bounce ideas of when it was pretty obvious from the stands that changes needed to be made.

The best team won, even after we went 1-0 up Scarborough showed their intent. I think we have to accept that we are very much a work in progress. Great free kick from Williams for his goal, he is areal talent, was surprised he didn't get the man if the match award. Good effort from our boys today, difficult conditions to play in and a very well organised opponent. Respect to the Scarborough fans, a long trip to support their team.

We huffed and puffed tbh . The truth is we have a few who aren't as at this level. Hopefully the new manager will bring in a colossus in midfield. Yes Dilly a ball winning, physical monster who wins the ball and plays a pass to a proper centre forward who has fantastic physicality and movement and can hit the net on a regular basis. Off load Gold and Marriott, free up the money for new blood.

Couldn't make today.  Holiday got in the way.

Think we have reached the point where we need to stick or twist with regard to Joe Simpson.

Big F A Cup game coming up next week, which as Joe indicated in his interview is really a free hit.   After this I think Bal has to earn his corn and make a firm decision on the way forward.

If he is going with JS then come out and back him. No good hiding in the shadows and being reactive when it goes wrong. Strong leadership is what I would like to see from him.

I do wonder now Rowe has gone will Grace ( media team) be invited back.  Some will will understand the question.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about ?

Nobody likes uncertainty.

Needs sorting one way or another.

Who's going to throw Steve Evans name in the hat?

With so many Lynn fans craving for success no matter what, like him or loathe  but knowing he's capable of doing the job, why not?

Grace was back today. Not sure if it was a one off, but hopefully not.

Previously, a very valued member of the team.

Who decided she wasn't needed, or was leaving her decision ( and if so why)?

Spot on with that. We need at two or three new first team starters and an experienced, at this level, manager, to have any sort of a realistic play off challenging season.
We need to have the new manager in place for next weekend as we won't have a tougher match all season and it will give him the perfect chance to see where we are short and what we need to bring in to make progress.
All three of Lambert, Marriott and Omotayo are dispensable to free up some money but obviously we can't afford to lose all three due to the already small size of our first team squad.
Crowds are holding up well so far, but unless things start improving soon (13 points from 10 matches is a poor start to the season) then I fear they will soon be well below the 1000 mark again.

Mallard

I really don't think there is too much wrong with the squad we have.  Maybe a solid, experienced ( for this level ) Central defender would be on my wish list. We have a lot of young players who will grow into the season.  We aren't really that far of the play-offs ( 7th) so if we hit those heights then has to be a decent season.

Rowe, for all his faults did leave a decent squad for the next Manager to work with.

It's now all in Bal's court where we go from here.  He does really need to get this one right. His chance to earn his corn.
