A Well Wisher

Scarborough had a bit more experience and were more 'streetwise' than we were. We need to remember that we're a largely young side that unfortunately will have days like today where we're just not on the ball. Still plenty of matches to be played and we've got a young, talented squad that can cause all sorts of problems for teams.

I do feel that the club needs to get the manager situation sorted and I fee l that with a young squad like ours it needs an experienced manager to come in and get the best out of them. Joe is a great lad and is looking after the ship the best he can but he has no one in the dugout who he can turn to. An experienced manager will have us in the play-offs by the end of the season in my view  :scarf:

Unless Marriott starts a game, we won't really know if he is of any real value to the squad. His fitness and pace levels weren't up to scratch at Boston and this far into the season would indicate similar. Omotayo as a number 9 centre forward just isn't good enough, so yes I agree with a couple of posts re their views. I like Gyasi, I think he is capable at this level, we do need someone else to play along side him. Not seen too much of Maja, so not sure on him.
Don't think there is a real rush to appoint a manager, it's much more important to get the right one. Tough game in the cup next week, but certainly no real pressure on our boys, remember Doncaster Rovers.
For me, I'm not overly fussed about the need for promotion, I'm very much enjoying the better style of football. Season ticket holder for the first time ever and I've been watching Lynn since the days of Mick Wright and Malcolm Lindsay, weren't they real class.
Good to see that Grace is back too.

:scarf: Agree with John H, finish the season well, retain the good uns and release the deadwood. Then will be the time to build on what we have kept. I would be surprised if there is money for fresh imports including a new manager who may require a transfer fee.

The Club signed 4 strikers in pre-season in Gold, Toll, Gyasi and Marriott. Though these werent  all signed by Rowe.  The potential amongst the 4 was right up there. Sadly it's not worked out for all 4.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about ?

Gyasi proved himself in this league last season perhaps we do not set up to his strengths.Toll has been injured most of the season as has Marriot dont need to say anything about Gold.

rod

Toll played c60 minutes on Saturday. His first game back since being injured at the start of the season.

Maybe it's just a matter of time before he does.  :dontknow:
Question everything!

Why did he put "Gold" on so early? He must have seen in training that he cant jump and he is unable to control the ball at his feet. Why is he still here.

My thoughts exactly 🤔

I was in a happy place when he was out... And devastated when we re-signed him.

An ex is an ex for a reason 😭

After watching Lynn Play on you tube. My Initial reaction on Saturday was a penalty the you tube clip proved it.

This pre-occupation with Gold is interesting. Some really don't fancy him but remember Culverhouse, Widdrington, Lakeland and Rowe have all given him the no 9 shirt.  They can't all be wrong, can they?

Think we should concentrate on what he can do as opposed what he can't do.

Mallard - do you rate Omotayo as a centre forward and how many goals would you expect our number 9 to score?
To date he has scored 2 goals, our right back has scored double that. Do you think that if Toll was fully fit and recalled from loan that he could play up front with both Omotayo and Gyasi.
Hopefully Omotayo can prove some people wrong and score the winner at Scunthorpe on Saturday, like he did at Doncaster.

I find it strange that people are saying it hasnt worked out for Gyasi so far this season he is top scorer in league/ Fa cup with 7 goals in 11 games shame we dont have a few more strikers that havent " worked out ". Also there was an issue on saturday which meant he had to be subbed and nothing to do with     tactics etc. These are young men trying there best to perform for the team/club and people should be a bit more supportive at times especially in Michaels case.
Lets keep positive about this team who didnt stop trying on saturday against a team who are deservedly near the top of the league.

Rate him John ?  I think he's ok and maybe the best we could get for that position with the 30% budget cut.  He certainly keeps central defenders on their toes and is idea for crosses that are stood up at the far post. Like I said best to focus on his strengths

The signing of Toll was made before Rowe was appointed and wasn't really given a look in as it seemed was not fancied by Rowe. Marriot, not sure who signed him but was always a gamble in terms of age and fitness.
