After much excitement leading into the new season with an almost entirely new squad, it's turning into a damp squib already.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen Carl Heggs return as manager to inject some fresh energy into the club. I was a huge fan of his when he was first at the Walks.

Anyway, hey ho. Hopefully onwards and upwards. COYL!

(Big sigh)

Reply to Peter. Must admit my pre season excitement has waned considerabley since the season has progressed. Just seems we just lurch from one fiasco to another.  Did we have all this years ago when the proper Lynn boys were playing, Keith R , Micky W, et al, or am I looking through rose tinted specs.

Once the decision was made to go full time the dynamics in the Club appeared to change.   Never has it seemed like the infrastructure was in place for this.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about ?

Jo and his CEO look to be out of there depth in all areas
The ceos little family of friends they he has surrounded himself with know a little about football but no where near enough for what they are supposed to be doing.
A divide and conquer approach used that's blowing up in his face that could turn into a Disaster.
If Jo is going to stay or has to stay for some reason he's got a bigger decision to make than just if he should replace a manager or not.

Excuse me...... back to back

I remember the COVID season well.
The right manager.
Great football.
Local based part time squad.
Passionate Chairman
Fan engagement.
What went wrong?

The Passionate Chairman furloughed key players and took out a substantial loan that may well be continuing to influence current operations.

Can't argue with the first three but think you might find the answer to your question in points four and five

We are a small town in Norfolk and lucky to have a football club at this level. I think maybe people expect continued success, rather than just looking forward to their Saturday and excepting there are two teams both wanting to win.
Season ticket holder for first time and enjoying watching my team. Not expecting promotion, but challenging for play offs would be nice.

Need to get the manager situation sorted, Joe isn't the answer. Enjoy today's game and let's get a win, 3-2 😀

Hope you're right we can do with a win

Let's not confuse passion and a lack of financial prudence. Two different things there and it could be said that both apply.

Furloughing players. I think he also furloughed non playing  staff but that didn't stop them continuing with their work at the club.

The loan was always going to be a disaster. Didn't Cleeve say at the time that the Club wouldn't be able to pay it back? Crazy. Surely he must have had someone to advise him that it would cause problems going forward!

Did that happen, even if it fell on deaf ears?

Strange times.

Quote from: Windy Linnet on October 25, 2025, 05:52:53 PMProbabky why he was second choice to Chorleys Andy Priest. Its a shame Lynn didn't think they could afford the two quality players he wanted to bring with him.It would have been a great present to the supporters from Bal following everything he's put us through with the clueless style of management.

Preece, not Priest.

Would have been nice to see it. Well respected and has done wonders with a small Club, achieving Play offs twice.

So if Culverhouse returns for a third time, how will that go when he finds out that Cleeve is still here? Does he know that Cleeve is still the 100% shareholder via his Blue and Gold Holdings? If he does, he must have been given a satisfactory answer as to why that is. Something the paying supporters have not been informed of.

I really wonder what he's been told on that one?

If its Cully, lets not expect an instant miracle (and maybe not to stay with us for very long).

Where did that remour come from re Preece isnt he now manager of Blackpool

Mallard

Preece being Northern based wouldn't have been cheap ( Lakeland basis).

I disagree re Culverhouse I do expect him to hit the ground running.  It's a shame he wasn't appointed soon after Rowe went.  Then Bal knows best.

Culverhouse is walking into a dressing room which is full of talent.  I firmly believe he is the someone who can get the best out of the Group.

With Culverhouse you get a first class coach with a proven track record at Step 2.  I just hope upon hope that he  doesn't walk into a Club with issues surrounding finance.
Maybe he can hang onto Tom Wilson, and not be forced to sell him.
