I've looked at public transport and trains look awkward because of the bank holiday engineering work, but this one is still more doable than most because the X1/excel bus runs through from King's Lynn to Peterborough, with buses up to every 30 minutes Monday–Saturday daytimes and up to hourly on public holidays. ([1]) ([2])

That said, it is also only about an hour by car, so this is a very straightforward away for drivers too.

The following things to do, places to eat/drink and parking details were generated by AI as usual (and where it found stuff), but with the car driver and also the first-time away fan in mind.

Peterborough Sports play at PIMS Park, Lincoln Road, Peterborough, PE1 3HA. The club says free home and away supporter parking is available, and you get to it by driving through the Thistlemoor Medical Centre car park. ([3])

TL;DR plan

* Best simple option: drive straight to PIMS Park, use the free parking, then head into the Turbines Tavern or grab food in the ground area. ([3]) ([4])
* Tickets: £15 online or £18 on the gate for adults; £10 online / £13 on the gate for concessions. ([5])
* Good one for a first away fan: it is close to home, cheap/free parking, there is a clubhouse bar on site, and even the X1 bus is a realistic fallback if you do not fancy the train chaos. ([1]) ([3]) ([4])
* Best "proper pub" option before the game: Charters or The Brewery Tap in the city centre if you want to make more of a day of it. ([6]) ([7])

Parking & getting in

* Official supporter parking: Peterborough Sports say there is free home and away supporter parking available if you follow the car park round to the clubhouse. ([3])
* They also separately say there is free parking in front of the clubhouse, but it is first come, first served and you must drive through the Thistlemoor Medical Centre car park to get there. ([4])
* Arrival tip: because it is free and first come first served, getting there around 75–90 minutes before kick-off is probably the smart play. (My suggestion rather than a club rule.)

Tickets

* Peterborough Sports' 2025/26 general admission prices are listed as follows: online — Adult £15, Concession £10, U18 £7, U13 £3, U3 free. ([5])
* Matchday prices are: Adult £18, Concession £13, U18 £10, U13 £5, U3 free. The club says cash and card are permitted. ([5])
* King's Lynn's own previous ticket info for this away also said it was a cashless stadium in January 2025, so taking a bank card is the safest bet. ([8])

Pubs & food

* Turbines Tavern (at the ground) is the easiest shout. Peterborough Sports say it is open before and after the match, serving hot and cold drinks and snacks, and it is open to both home and away supporters unless the match is segregated. ([4])
* Hot food in the ground is also regularly mentioned in away guides, with Football Ground Guide noting hot and cold food served at the ground on matchday and that the clubhouse is an excellent choice for a meal and pint before the game. ([9])
* Charters is the best shout if you want to make more of a day of it in the city centre — it is a well-known Peterborough pub with a big beer garden, real ales and food service. ([6])
* The Brewery Tap is another strong city-centre option — award-winning ales, Thai food and Friday food service from 12 noon to 10.30pm. ([7])
* Away-day verdict: for most fans, especially if it is your first away day, I'd keep this one simple — park at the ground, have a drink/snack in the Turbines Tavern, and enjoy an easy first trip. If you want more of a pub day, head into the city centre first and then drive out to the ground. (That final bit is my judgement based on the setup.)

Public transport

* Trains: National Rail are showing bank holiday engineering work, including buses replacing trains between King's Lynn and Cambridge North over the Early May Bank Holiday period. ([2])
* Bus: First Bus say their excel/X1 route runs the full route from King's Lynn to Peterborough, with up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes and up to hourly on Sundays, public holidays and evenings. ([1])
* So while rail looks a pain, the bus is a genuine option for anyone who does not drive.

Why this is a good one for a first-time away fan

* It is close — no massive cross-country trek.
* Parking is free and at the ground. ([3]) ([4])
* Tickets are simple and reasonably priced. ([5])
* There is a bar and food/snacks on site, so you do not need to overthink the day. ([4]) ([9])
* Even if trains are a mess, the X1 bus gives non-drivers another way of getting there. ([1])

Simple matchday flow

1. Leave King's Lynn in good time and aim for PIMS Park around 75–90 minutes before kick-off.
2. Follow signs through the medical centre car park to the free supporter parking. ([3]) ([4])
3. Head into the Turbines Tavern for a drink and light bite, or grab food in the ground. ([4]) ([9])
4. Buy on the gate if needed, but online is cheaper. ([5])
5. Enjoy one of the easiest away days of the season.

If you want a pub-first plan

* Charters — best if you want a more "away day out" feel with proper pub atmosphere. ([6])
* The Brewery Tap — best if food matters as much as the beer. ([7])
* Ground bar — best if you want the least faff possible. ([4])

Bumble Inn on Westgate and The Ostrich are the best pubs for real ale in Pbo.
