General Discussion / Re: Squad added to.

Quote from: Mallard on November 20, 2025, 07:21:58 PMHeard a lot of good things about the young lad from Ipswich, Rio Oudnie-Morgan.
All 3 of the loan players look good, looking forward to seeing them, hopefully some of them starting the game tomorrow.
I remember one of IC's former loan players, Simon Power, who made his debut v York. He was a real talent, so hoping the new loanees are too.

Quote from: Mallard on November 16, 2025, 05:28:11 PMJohn, Cully basically said either the players on the bench weren't fit or young kids.

I don't understand why we don't pull Toll and Williams and Van Lier back from loan spells.  Can't use a player from the bench makes no sense when we have players like those 3 out on loan.
Young kids with a point to prove. IC got it wrong by not using any subs. Harrow are two levels lower, so surely an ideal opportunity to see what the young kids could do against that level of opposition.

I'm sure there will be some incoming before Saturday, but if they're new loan players, what would that say about the ones we've loaned out. We know it will take time to turn things around, but let's stop kidding ourselves that our forwards are good enough, they simply aren't. We are a work in progress and patience is needed. I'm pleased IC is crack and I have faith in his ability to make us a better team.

I'm answer to M A Hill's question regarding Marriott. No, Marriott will never be the prolific scorer he once was. Now that Gyasi has 'left' none of our forwards are much of a threat. We can't judge Toll yet of course, but hopefully he will be brought back so that we can see how he does at this level.
Full credit to Harrow and good luck to them for the rest of their season. 2-0 up at half time at home to a team two levels below and end up losing is disappointing and embarrassing for the players and management. Why didn't IC use any subs to freshen things up.

His 1 month loan expired and I don't think he impressed. From his perspective, he would want game time by starting, rather than as a sub. Good luck to him. I would like to see Toll recalled if / when he is fit. Either way, IC will have a forward in before long.

To let your leading goal scorer go out on loan would appear a poor decision. I had previously heard stuff about him whilst he was at Boston that would suggest he makes it difficult to fit in. You wouldn't just let your top goal scorer go, so I'm sure there is a reason and a plan in place.
I thought Marriott played well on Tuesday and I'm sure he will start scoring. We have Omotayo, Maja and Kamara, so still 4 forwards.
Tough game today, a draw would be a good result, although I think South Shields will win  with Blackett causing us problems.

Tony M - re Chapman, a work colleague and. Boston United fan says that they all loved Chapman when he was there for a bit. He was signed after their goalkeeper got injured. Said he was excellent and would have him back.

Maybe Chadwick will get the nod for the upcoming FA Trophy game v Harrow.

First half was not pretty. What was Chapman doing walking outside his area holding the ball. We got away with that, their free kick on the edge of the box cleared the cross bar by some distance. Much better second half,  end to play like that from the beginning.

Is Gyasi not fully fit? Thought Marriott looked lively and Kamara put himself about when he came on, should really have scored within a minute of coming on too. Overall, decent performance, especially second half. Much needed win and 3 points, well done.

Yes, any sort of win will do. Leamington have only scored 3 goals in their last 8 games and we are currently bottom on form. Lynn to win 2-0. With it being our first home game with IC back as manager with maybe a bit more optimism, I think the attendance will be around 1200.

Southport would be the least happiest, as being at home and sitting bottom, needing the points would have hoped for a win against an out of form Lynn.
We have to take a positive from today, that being not conceding. Not losing away is always decent and something to build on for Tuesday at home when hopefully, we will get a win against Leamington.

We are a small town in Norfolk and lucky to have a football club at this level. I think maybe people expect continued success, rather than just looking forward to their Saturday and excepting there are two teams both wanting to win.
Season ticket holder for first time and enjoying watching my team. Not expecting promotion, but challenging for play offs would be nice.

Need to get the manager situation sorted, Joe isn't the answer. Enjoy today's game and let's get a win, 3-2 😀

Both Fylde's goals came from mistakes. Had Nyahwema and Gyasi been on from the start, we may well have got something from the game. Nyahwema is so tricky and was a real handful for their right back. It was by him getting the better of his defender and getting a cross in that we git our goal from and that was soon after coming on.
Charlie Wilson looked assured when he came on. I wasn't impressed with Kamara, Marriott looked lively when he came on and I would prefer Marriott over Kamara on today's showing. I would have kept Williams on rather than subbing him for Marriott and took someone else off, maybe Clunan. We know how good Williams is at free kicks, so for that reason, would have preferred him there, just in case we got a free kick close to goal.
Always said it is a work in progress and I'm sure we will come good, we need to stick together and be patient.

Mallard - do you rate Omotayo as a centre forward and how many goals would you expect our number 9 to score?
To date he has scored 2 goals, our right back has scored double that. Do you think that if Toll was fully fit and recalled from loan that he could play up front with both Omotayo and Gyasi.
Hopefully Omotayo can prove some people wrong and score the winner at Scunthorpe on Saturday, like he did at Doncaster.

Unless Marriott starts a game, we won't really know if he is of any real value to the squad. His fitness and pace levels weren't up to scratch at Boston and this far into the season would indicate similar. Omotayo as a number 9 centre forward just isn't good enough, so yes I agree with a couple of posts re their views. I like Gyasi, I think he is capable at this level, we do need someone else to play along side him. Not seen too much of Maja, so not sure on him.
Don't think there is a real rush to appoint a manager, it's much more important to get the right one. Tough game in the cup next week, but certainly no real pressure on our boys, remember Doncaster Rovers.
For me, I'm not overly fussed about the need for promotion, I'm very much enjoying the better style of football. Season ticket holder for the first time ever and I've been watching Lynn since the days of Mick Wright and Malcolm Lindsay, weren't they real class.
Good to see that Grace is back too.
