My first trip to the Walks this season, approaching with a lot more optimism about the club and team than the past couple of seasons.  Rowe is a fantastic appointment and things seem to be turning around off the field although I think we have to accept that this will be a slow progress given how little was there to build on after years of SC at the helm.

Positives - good attendance and some promising signs from some of the new (to me) lads and a chance to catch up with fellow supporters who I hadn't seen since last year

Negatives - poor referee basically out of his depth with two sides keen to 'influence' him, not helped by Kiddy going ahead and then taking every available opportunity to kill the game.  Couldn't really understand why JR didn't switch things round much earlier when plan A was so obviously not working - back 4 and front 6 with absolutely no midfield just played into Kiddy's hands as easy to hold their line and with so many Lynn players in a line across the pitch they always had covering defenders close together.  Things improved with the subs and Crane moved a bit more central and dropped deeper and Collins looked bright when he came on but too little, too late to really.  Sure many will argue that we did enough for a share of the points but realistically Kiddy got their goal and then just did what they needed to do to take all three points without really being stretched.

Hopefully the club will prioritise the F A cup in September, mid table NLS team up first isn't a given but good away form gives us more than a shout.

Williams is an excellent addition.  Some of the others are decent, and although we at last have an attacking team again, ferocity and aggression aren't enough to secure regular wins.  We're a team of individuals to some extent, and need a couple of skilful midfielders and a nipster, plus an additional goalscorer. I'd like to see Marriott tried again as a good addition to Gyasi in the penalty area.  Decent start, but we need more guile and slipperiness....

Gold in for Doherty saw us change formation and style from that which won 4-0 on Saturday. I do wonder if in doing so JR showed Kidderminster too much respect as we never really got into our stride.

Kiddy certainly 'mastered the dark arts' once they had something to hold on to. The game reminded me a lot of when we were going head to head with AFC Fylde (also managed by Adam Murray) for the title a few season's back and we lost that one nil too.

Yet he booked six Harriers players and we now face a fine. How does that correlate with a biased ref then?

Sour grapes methinks.

Lucky it was only 6. The sub (number 20 I think) was already on a yellow card before he clattered one of our players in injury time. Any other game/ref it's another yellow.

On another note hope the players who suffered all them head injuries are ok.....your physio/sports therapist didn't appear to know her job considering she was treating their legs/backs etc rather than head. Hope they're ok for your next game.

Ok the ref was poor.  Sorry but that's what you get at this level. However that ref never disallowed any goals or stopped anything going over the line.  Think we need to change this mentality that when we don't win then it's down to the Ref. Sometimes we have to look at  our attacking options and think we need to better.

Kiddie did a job on us.  They came  for a point. Then took the lead. Wasn't then down to them to chase the game.  They were looking to run down the clock, as most teams would do, given those set of circumstances.

One little niggle ( moan call it what you will), why is Sam Collins not starting ? Would like to him and Williams together from the get go.  Still not convinced what Clunan is bringing  to the party.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about ?
