No shame losing away at Kidderminster, hey Mallard.
AL must be starting to wonder how safe his job is.

The game was over after 11 minutes when they scored.there was no way back for us because we can't score goals. What excuses tonight from the manager?

John, tell me you didn’t expect us to get beat there tonight ?

We are miles off it.  Last 13 games have pulled in 16 points with just 16 goals scored.  We are creating very little.  No McFadden or Johnson again tonight.  Nothing new player wise coming through the door.  No info on what’s happening with players or indeed off the field activities.

I’ve got us done as finishing 11th.  So maybe time for everyone to downgrade their expectations

We have fallen a mighty long way from the team that thumped Kiddie 4-0 at home..
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

No new players in, no new fire power.

Lakeland has said he's tried but it's very difficult.

With the Jo saga continuing to rumble on, could the truth be that Lakeland hasn't really got the money he needs to recruit new players?

Maybe Jo is not releasing money for players until everything is signed and sealed, and the money he is currently "investing" is only sufficient to keep the lights on at the Club.   :dontknow:

Is it really ever going to happen?

Every one knows what our problem is we have Strikers that are not firing on all clenders J M isn’t the player he was and has for Gold he has lost his ability to score, the biggest problem imo is getting people players to come over here

I can't believe that Adam Lakeland would not have signed someone by now if he really had the money available. I know the Club has the issue of geographical location, but obviously that's always been the case and always will be. If a decent player was offered the right terms he would be here irrespective of our location. Not having the money available is probably down to the still unresolved situation between Jo and Cleeve.

Adam has given reasons why he hasn't signed players, and I didn't expect him to say anything else. It's what Managers do.

Didn't we pay a fee for Omotayo & Williams and agree a free with Warrington for Connor Woods before he signed for Chester? Also spoke to Sam Osbourne before he joined Alfreton. So it does appear backing is there.

Good to see you back Paul.  Always the voice ( words) of reason.

Are you suggesting we got gazumped by Chester for the lad from Warrington.  Guess these things happen.  Though it is a worry if Part time Alfreton did the same with the lad Osbourne.

Is the uncertainty with the Cleeve and Jo/Bal situation having some kind of effect ?  The situation is worrying in the time now it appears to be dragging on.  My concern is if a deal is not done and Jo’s money disappears can SC fund it going forward.

Dreadful first half, second half was better albeit with AL making some rather odd subs at the break.

I've resigned myself to the fact that we're not making the play-offs now. Shame really after such a promising start. Still, I'll happily take this than being at the wrong end of the table.

Let's just enjoy what we can of the rest of the season and where we end up is where we end up - not going down, almost definitely not going up  :scarf:

Mallard, no it wasn’t any surprise that we lost, our current form is poor. We can’t score or keep clean sheets, so only one outcome there. I think people’s expectations have definitely changed. As you say, no new forward looks likely, so unlikely to make the play offs. All seems mysterious that we have bought in someone by now. When Culverhouse was manager, he had it seems, better contacts. I recall Simon Power coming on loan from  Norwich and making his debut v York (what a day that was).
Re the York game, we played attractive passing football. Irrespective to or current results, our football is not pleasing on the eye, that is down to the AL I guess. Just watched his post match interview and pleased that he wasn’t looking for excuses and admitted that the best team won.
If he can’t bring new players in, then he has to make do with what he has. He will still believe that the play offs are achievable, somehow he has to get the players to believe in it too.

That's Then and Now Paul. Gold was here for start of season and Williams came in September. That's 5 months ago. We obviously had a few quid at start of season but doesn't mean we have any now. We didn't get Osbourne so that's more likely down to lack of money on offer rather than having proving sufficient funds available now.

On the subject of Williams, where was he last night? If he's only going to bench warm (or not even do that), wouldn't it be best to get him out on loan and recoup some money.

Could say the same for Gold. Strikers are always the most expensive so if he's only going to be a bit part player for us, why not sell? We can't be the only club looking for a striker so he could be worth a few bob. Why not cash in, release some money, and go for someone that better suits Adams plans (and can score a few goals)?

As for selling Omotayo.....only one club would be silly enough to pay a fee for him. Unfortunately that's us.

Paul I'm not sure that is strictly true.  Another Club did make an offer for Gold. He didn’t fancy the Manager at the Club. So turned the move down.  Williams as I understand it doesn’t want to go out loan. So that’s those two strikers clogging up the process to bring others in.

Think AL realises he has made a massive mistake in signing both Gold and Williams as neither have produced.  In a nutshell those two signings could well have cost the Club a play off place.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?
