Quote from: m a hill on October 12, 2025, 02:08:40 PMAfter letting a 2 goal lead slip we must have a serious look at our defence .I thought we had this game in the bag at half time but alas it wasn't meant to be

If you weren't there, I don't think you should be throwing such ill-informed statements about. And if you were there, with all due respect, you don't know what you're talking about.

We were all over them for most of the first half. Close man marking seemed to frustrated the Scunthorpe players.

But after half time they had a change of tactics and we ended up getting splattered. Of course we had some luck in the first half as well. We still got stuck in, our luck ran out, but not for the want of trying.

I am very proud of our team and playing staff who all battled until the final minute. Despite the disappointing result the players all came over to us, stood in a line across the pitch, and as we applauded them, they applauded us. It was actually quite an emotional few minutes, to be honest.

In the end it was not our day. And the fact that we put two goals past them, when you look at the gulf between the two teams, I'm proud of what we did achieve -against all the odds.

Quote from: Quinn Upstone on October 08, 2025, 10:19:29 PMWhy do we have to know everything that goes on at the club day-to-day ? The relationship is simple.

I don't think anybody has said that supporters need to know "everything".

"We pay, they provide" is not adequate for most in this day and age. Everything is about communication these days, be it football or other matters.

Also, in this day and age, Supporters expect more than just a few post on a Clubs website. As long as its conducted correctly, the Club need to also engage with Supporters on Social Media (not just post....engage). Social Media is not going to go away.............it will only develop further.

You're talking to the person who had Facebook and Twitter accounts providing club news and updates before the club even had any social media accounts.

Once they realised, as you say, that social media wasn't going away, the club crawled out of the primordial slime and, albeit initially inadequate,  started to use social media. At that stage I closed my accounts and left it to them.

Since then, I'm afraid it's been a fluctuating service, but perhaps the club is prioritising the list of jobs that need attention. Rightly or wrongly.

Quote from: Veratis on October 08, 2025, 05:11:53 PMMal you may see it as a curt message from the Club regarding Rowes departure other people see it like this. Quoted from Gavin Caneys recent article in the free local paper " Internal and external investigations need to take place and great care has to be taken not to prejudice any proceedings that may follow as a result. Words have to be used very sensibly and with strict laws around reporting and defamation is it any wonder considerable care is being taken by the Linnets ?
The difficulty is that the court of public opinion turns quicker than it used to. A lack of comment or denouncing is now seen as cordoning. It isnt that simple "

Makes you stop and think about making anything public until all the legal implications are checked and not saying something just for the sake of it.

Excellent post, straightforward and to the point.

In this hi tech era, it's easy to want everything within seconds, but the law and the process of gathering evidence just doesn't work like Amazon Prime (other online shops are also available 🛒🛍)

Why do we have to know everything that goes on at the club day-to-day ? The relationship is simple. We pay and they provide... hopefully.

I've recently been in contact with their club and having also browsed the information on their website, I noticed in the away fans guidance that we are expected to buy a ticket before we arrive at the ground.

It also says that there might be the possibility to purchase on the day, so that's left me confused.

It could just be for their own league matches.

Nevertheless, I would encourage people to buy tickets prior to arrival, just in case. No one wants to turn up on the day and be refused entry.

I've also been told that supporters who are receiving Personal Independence Payment (PIP) can bring a carer in free of charge. Presumably with proof.

I've just been trying to book a match ticket in the AMS section and the whole section is unavailable.

I'm not great with tech. Has anyone had any better luck ?

Bizarrely I could book one elsewhere in the ground. Most frustrating 😡

Quote from: peter on October 06, 2025, 08:48:47 AMWhy did he put "Gold" on so early? He must have seen in training that he cant jump and he is unable to control the ball at his feet. Why is he still here.

My thoughts exactly 🤔

I was in a happy place when he was out... And devastated when we re-signed him.

An ex is an ex for a reason 😭

I must admit that I haven't been particularly impressed by Crowther, but I'm sure someone will shout me down 😂

As for Van Lier, I haven't seen enough of him yet to form an opinion 😕

JR seems to be moulding the team to his liking 🤔

Plenty going on and much better information coming out from the club 🫣😯⚽

"Every manager has always made Clunan the captain, so they must see something in him.......but I don't know what he's pointing at either!!"

I think Clunan is just carrying on from when he was here before. The finger pointing is just directing players, especially required by the younger players.

He has great awareness on the pitch, a role that is clearly needed judging by the number of times I saw players holding their hands out when they didn't know what to play next. That's a great giveaway for the opposition as they know who to prey on.

He's like a spider 🕷️ in the middle of his 🕸️

But man oh man ! What on earth was he doing in defence ? Sorry Michael, but you were terrible in that position. It prevented the web from working as efficiently. I think that's why supporters noticed the finger pointing. When he does it in the middle of the pitch, it's not so noticeable.

There's an article on BBC News app, but I'm not clever enough to put it on here 😂

Mostly the same details as LN, but somehow makes it feel more serious to see it in national news 😏

I hope the idiots who think it's funny to act out see the article and change their ways. But I doubt it.

Perhaps one of you clever people could put it on here 😉
