Quote from: Mick on September 29, 2025, 04:40:25 PMSurely no one who has been through what he has in the last two or so years would be so stupid?

Unless it's a "disease" where predators can't help themselves??

Bad behaviour all round and if it is his stupidity which has made him do it, we are well rid of him

Quote from: Blue_and_Gold on September 24, 2025, 12:51:36 PMWalks.

Do you mind me asking what you find ridiculous about it please?

Surely there's more to being a Manager than just being able to put a potentially  good squad together and potentially get some decent results?

My comment of "Ridiculous" wasn't aimed at the manager, or anyone in particular for that matter

My comment of "ridiculous" was that it seems to sum up the luck this club has!!

We all mostly agree the football was good, the signings were good and to have it taken away is ridiculous(luck)

Quote from: Mallard on September 24, 2025, 01:08:13 PMThe thing is Walks some don't need to speculate.

If the truth comes out, then all when and good, but people will always speculate unless they know the facts

Do you have anything you'd like to share Mallard??!!

That's ridiculous.

I've been excited at the start of this season, we're playing good football, we have the basis of a good team.......and now this.

We can all speculate what the "non football" reasons are, but it's ridiculous.

Of course the new person we appoint could be an improvement.....but they could also be a lot worse

The great North - South divide.  Where is the divining line?

It should be where the pronunciation of the word "bath" changes.

If it's pronounced as if there's an "r" in it - as in "Barth" then it's Southern.

When it's pronounced as if there isn't an "r" in it, then it's The North  :laughcry:

I'm trying to work out what Clunan keeps pointing at!

I may be in the minority but I believe (and always have done) that Clunan flatters to deceive

He's a decent player, but not the 'Frank Lampard' he thinks he is........I remember having a chat with Chris Henderson once while he was at Lynn and I asked him about Clunan and he was very complimentary about him, not so much as a player, but as a skipper and how he was good for the lads off the pitch.

Every manager has always made Clunan the captain, so they must see something in him.......but I don't know what he's pointing at either!!

As for the match - great win and great response after Chorley.

Merthyr's late arrival meant I had to miss the second half as I had commitments (looking after my children while my partner went to work) but what I did see, we looked very good.

As for Rowe, where I was standing in the first half he was very animated towards Merthyrs number two, effing and jeffing at him for a good period, so whether that contributed in his sending off??

J R's usual post match interview could be an interesting one.

His post match interviews wind me up!!

I think he's a talented manager and I'm certainly enjoying watching us this season, but his interviews after matches come across as a bit baffling and always commenting on the officials.

Maybe he's too emotional and needs longer to process the match rather than have a microphone in his face within an hour of the final whistle??

Anyway, it's still a decent start to the season - Chorley away is always tricky - lets move on and hopefully get our first home win of the season on Saturday vs Merthyr

I think we need a proven manager, rather than a rookie

Josh Coulson could well do a good job, but I feel it's a bigger risk taking him as manager as opposed to someone who knows the division / lower leagues.

It was always going to be a tall order to win the playoffs. We would have needed to outscore 3 very good teams, away too.

But, if we'd have beaten Chester, we would have had home advantage - albeit only for the Chorley match, but a win vs Chester, then Chorley, get some confidence going and who knows.....

That Chester defeat - well, the manner of it, doesn't sit well with me.

But, it's all done now - overall a better season than the previous one, but after hovering around the top for a good chunk of the season, I can't help but feel disappointed

I question his long term commitment and wouldn't be surprised at any point if he jacked it in.

In all fairness it's some commute for him and Walker if they do it on a daily basis - or a lot of time away from their families if they stay down here during the week.

The "facts" in his interview, as you state aren't all exactly true!!

If we don't go up this season, what are peoples thoughts - do you think Lakeland will be here next season??

General Discussion / Re: Chester Today

Okay, ay the start of the season, if we were offered a 6th place finish, we would all have accepted it, gleefully.

However a 6th placed finish after occupying 5th place before kick off is disappointing.

I don't think the boo's were warranted, but today was extremely poor - to have given ourselves the opportunity of a home tie in the play offs, but throw it away is shocking.

The "happy clappers" will always be that, they'd be content just turning up at The Walks to watch the grass grow - but anyone with any ambition will know that today wasn't good enough.

Do you think Cleeve, Lakeland, Sam Walker, Josh Coulson, Hmami, etc. will be sitting ay home tonight "happy" just because we reached the play offs???

We as fans (customers or whatever - today isn't the time for that debate) shouldn't be happy either

We got lucky today - simple as that = that Curzon and Hereford didn't both win, otherwise there'd be no more matches this season.

It was in our hands and we let it slip

I still think we need to be careful.

Yes, Chester may well rest some of their players.......all that means is they will have others come into their team trying to prove a point, trying to force their way into the first team selection for the play offs.

Deep down, I think we'll be fine......but we need to be careful - lets hope Lynn try to win the match

Try and win it.

Other teams will be trying to win their matches so if we try to be clever it could bite us on the backside and we end up missing out - or finish 7th which then means a trip to Chester on Wednesday.

Try and win, finish 5th and get a home tie - if we lose and Chorley, Hereford & Curzon win, then we'll miss out as our goal difference is far inferior to those three teams.

General Discussion / Re: Needham Market
April 21, 2025, 11:02:35 PM
Great result.........but, what a poor game of football it was!!

Credit to Needham for achieving what they have, but the set up isn't really for this level of football.

The crowd - I think there were more Lynn fans than Needham fans there today.

But, football is a results business regardless of the performance - 4 more scrappy 1-0 wins and we're in the National League and I think we'd have all taken that scenario at the start of the season

It wasn't the fact it was hard to buy, I just thought it was a palava having to register on their website to buy a ticket, knowing I'll probably never use their website ever again!!

What I thought would have happened is Needham give Lynn an allocation and we buy them from our own website

What a palava

Create an account just to buy one ticket

Anyone bought theirs yet from Needham's website??
