Quote from: Mallard on November 21, 2025, 04:45:51 PMRoger Taylor didn't he make a few Wimbledon semi's ?

He is getting on a bit now, so if a semi is all he can manage these days, it hardly unexpected!

Quote from: Coastal linnet on November 17, 2025, 12:32:40 PMThe players looked very lively in the warm up and the first twenty minutes but then looked worn out. Is the intensity of full time energetic training too much for them;particularly the more " senior" players?

Too much for them,part time players put in a 40+ hour shift in labour intensive jobs up and down the country,still train every week and get a fraction of the money! Players should make every effort to stay fit,teddy Sheringham played top flight into his 40s and probably others do.I also believe that Jackie Gallagher competed in his 60s,I may be corrected on that one? No excuses for lack of fitness,many people play for fun 2 or 3 times a week and work! :banghead;  :banghead;

Perhaps they could sell raffle tickets and the winner names the stand,obviously the tickets won't be cheap.I quite fancy seeing it named the Grissles stand? :laughcry:  :laughcry:  :laughcry:

Quote from: Blue_and_GoldThere will also be a prize draw for the main stand naming rights!

I take it that Bal didn't manage to retain the previous (anonymous) sponsor of the main Stand.  :dontknow:

The name of the anonymous sponsor was engraved on the underside of the infamous table in hieroglyphics. :laughcry:  :laughcry:  :laughcry:

Quote from: Grissles Oleary on November 01, 2025, 10:15:06 PMI have been informed that as in previous years the club will open the ground for Fawkes in the Walks.Hard standing and refreshments,and a roof if it rains. :scarf:  :scarf:

That's good to hear Gris. My poor old bones and discomfort in large crowds makes the ground a great place to hide and still watch the fireworks 🎇🎇🎇

Hopefully there will be food and drink available as usual, as a hot drink warms the cockles of my heart... amongst other places...

Do you know whether we will still be able to sit in the stand this year ?

People have been allowed to sit in the stand in previous years,front seats are best. :scarf:

Quote from: dillydilly on October 22, 2025, 10:23:37 PMDon't know what we do from here.  As said before, I feel we have a team of triers, but we lack slippery players capable of moving together.  Most of the teams I've seen in home games this season have them, and it pays dividends.  Very disappointing but we could unfortunately be in for a relegation fight. We can win games where individuals come good, but that won't be in the majority of games...

And we lack a Deftyish/Gashish player who can run through people,hold the ball up and bring people into the game? :dontknow:
