TW leaves Aldershot.

Any vacant Managers jobs around at the moment?

 :dontknow:

Not to worry. I don't think the Club have the required funds to support the kind of salary he (and his son) would command at the moment.

That's unless Trust funds are moved across before the transfer of the shares.

Quote from: Mallard on October 12, 2025, 03:27:47 PMSeems like this chap Bal is preparing to give Cleeve a good run for his money.

Maybe we should have been more careful what we wished for

Is Cleeve still there and involved?

From memory, I think we were informed by Bal (sorry if it wasn't him), that Cleeve was staying on so he could be involved in reducing the Legacy debt (Although I can't see that it's really a Legacy debt as it's a Club debt and the Club is just being taken over, not reformed).

Quarter way through season now, so it would be nice to know how our Ex Chairman (and still major shareholder via Blue and Gold Holdings) is getting on in this new role.

Is he having any success?

Quote from: Spiv on October 12, 2025, 10:29:26 AMI understand it was 198 of us made the trip - almost 2 full coaches which was great to see

Yes, good turnout.

What news on Gysai?

Leading goalscorer missing for a big FA Cup tie where success and getting into the next round means badly needed money.

No news of injury that I know of.

It was all going so well for 61 minutes, with the Linnets leading by 2 goals.

Coming out after half time, and losing 2-0,Scunthorpe then managed to put 4 goals past Lynn to come out 4-2 winners.

Scunthorpe 4 v Kings Lynn 2.

Where was Gysai today?

No Gysai today.   :dontknow:

Looks like we have had to fill the bench with two Academy players.  :dontknow:

If so, that's crazy as we have 4 players out on loan!

Hearing that a couple of players that are listened to, are eager to get Cully back.

Talks have apparently taken place.  :dontknow:

Joe will give Bal a nice problem to have, when he turns Scunny over today!

No reason we can't come away with a win today.

Scunny will probably regard this game as a potential bannana skin so hopefully we can make it as slippery as possible for them.

And of course there's the little matter of the financial rewards that come with going into the hat for the next round.

Quote from: Nigel1505 on October 10, 2025, 06:00:57 PMLet's hope he knows where the goal is and not get the ball tangled under his feet or high wide and handsome. It's about time we got an out and out goal scorer.

2 goals from 11 appearances when with Welling.

Quote from: Quinn Upstone on October 09, 2025, 12:47:03 PM..........perhaps the club is prioritising the list of jobs that need attention. Rightly or wrongly.

Point proven.

That's what we need to know.

Do they want Supporters or customers?

And of course as the (soon to be) co-owners the Trust state, "open and honest".

Quote from: Quinn Upstone on October 08, 2025, 10:19:29 PMWhy do we have to know everything that goes on at the club day-to-day ? The relationship is simple. We pay and they provide... hopefully.

I don't think anybody has said that supporters need to know "everything".

"We pay, they provide" is not adequate for most in this day and age. Everything is about communication these days, be it football or other matters.

"We pay, they provide" is for customers, not supporters. If the Club wants more from supporters (be it their money or assistance with their community work) and not just have them just turning up for a couple of hours on a Saturday, they need to engage more.

With the Supporters now involved via the Trust, there's nothing wrong with them showing an interest or being curious in whats going on? In fact I would say that's a very positive thing, and that its something that can (should) be developed further.

With the Trust members voting in favour of purchasing  shares in the Club, that proves that some supporters have an interest that goes beyond a Saturdays afternoon entertainment (not many, but its something to build on). After all, they have a financial interest in the Club. If you have a financial interest in something, I would say its only natural to want to have as much information as possible.

If the Club wants Supporters involved, and not just for the monetary aspect, they need to understand that life is a two way street.

Also, in this day and age, Supporters expect more than just a few post on a Clubs website. As long as its conducted correctly, the Club need to also engage with Supporters on Social Media (not just post....engage). Social Media is not going to go away.............it will only develop further. It's here to stay so the Club may as well embrace the opportunity, get systems in place and get on with it and not fall further behind than they already are.

I find it so strange that our new Owner has basically earned his Millions by using Social Media and communication, but the Club still lack in this area.

Finally, slightly off track but very relevant when discussing communication.

We finally have a PSC and a Director registered at Companies House. Whats happening with the transfer of the shares? At the moment, it appears that Stephen Cleeve still owns the Club (even if he no longer runs it on a day to day basis).

Until this is sorted, the Trust have said that they won't part with any money (VERY, VERY WISE). Isn't it about time we had an update on this?

General Discussion / Trust meeting.
October 08, 2025, 06:55:39 PM
Short notice, but there's a Trust meeting tomorrow:

Next meeting: Thursday 9th October at The Live & Let Live starting at 7:30pm.
In line with our policy of openness and honesty, Trust members have the opportunity to attend Trust committee meetings, but should register their interest via the "contact us" facility on the website or by contacting the Secretary on 07710 937103.
This invitation is open to Trust members only, and that attendance will be limited to two applicants per meeting on a first come first served basis.

Quote from: Mallard on October 08, 2025, 06:42:49 PMExcellent post Vera.  Far more meat on that bone than we got from the Club's 2/3 liner on the subject.

However I think the EDP coverage of the story leaving readers in little doubt.

I was more looking at things going forward in which way the Club is  going. Not been a mention of JS being given a trial period or if the Club are casting the net further afield with possible candidates being invited to apply or indeed invited to interview.

Over two weeks now and no follow up information coming out.

I have to agree, it's a good post.

In fact it's so good, I bet even a CEO would be proud of it.
